Teeth Whitening

We are excited to offer our patients Zoom!

Many patients are pleased with take-home trays to wear during the day or night, with great results in as little as a week.  And many others are delighted to whiten up to 8 shades in one visit with https://vimeo.com/asperstudios/review/847056988/48dc96822a the Zoom! WhiteSpeed in-office whitening procedure.

Teeth whitening, or bleaching, is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Because having whiter teeth is now the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth.  The most popular method is using a home teeth whitening system that will whiten your teeth dramatically.  Since teeth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc.. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly whitened teeth.

Teeth whitening is not permanent.  A touch-up may be needed every several years, and more often if you smoke or drink coffee, tea, or wine, dark soft drinks, or colored sports drinks.

Reasons for teeth whitening:

  • Fluorosis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development)
  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer
  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.)
  • Yellow, brown stained teeth

What does teeth whitening involve?

We have two excellent options for patients looking for a brighter, whiter smile. Our in-office Zoom! WhiteSpeed treatment can give you up to 8 shades improvement that day, with extended whitening at home in your custom silicone trays. Whitening with your take-home trays alone will also produce excellent results when used according to instructions.

Both options usually require two visits. We will make impressions of your teeth at your first appointment to fabricate clear silicone trays.

At your second appointment you will try on the trays for proper fit, and adjustments will be made if necessary. These trays are worn with special whitening solution either twice a day for a short time or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening. It is normal to experience sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth, but it will subside shortly after you have stopped bleaching.

If you have chosen the in-office Zoom! WhiteSpeed treatment, your teeth will receive three (3) fifteen-minute whitening applications accompanied by the LED Zoom! lamp, with an optional fourth session if necessary. You will also receive whitening gel to use the next several days in your trays at home, to enhance your in-office results.

You will receive care instructions for your teeth and trays, and be encouraged to visit us regularly to help maintain your beautiful, healthy, white smile.

We're excited to help you achieve your brightest smile possible!
